The first Friday of every month, historic downtown Flagstaff opens its doors from 5 to 9 PM — galleries, studios, breweries, and shops filled with local art, artists, and live music. Free, walkable, and under some of the darkest skies of any city on Earth.

New for the 2026 season
The streets go car-free.
Every First Friday this season, the Aspen Street block by Heritage Square closes to cars — more room for people, pedals, and art. There's even a community bike ride rolling in for the 5 PM start. Love it? Help keep it past 2026.
How the night works
Start at Heritage Square
The walk's hub on Aspen Ave — grab a paper map, catch street performances, and get your bearings. In the 2026 season, Aspen goes car-free between Leroux and San Francisco.
Follow Gallery Row
N San Francisco Street packs seven art spaces into two facing buildings — co-ops, fine craft, working studios. Openings, artists in the room, and doors that stay open late.
Cross the tracks
The Southside keeps it going: a ceramics center, a working gallery district, breweries and an alcohol-free kava lounge — the locals' second half of the night.

Freaky Foot Tours
Flagstaff's local walking-tour company — guided night walks of haunted historic downtown, leaving after the galleries close. Ghost tour season all October.

October is ghost tour season: the Haunted History Ghost Tour leaves Wheeler Park (two blocks west of Heritage Square) nightly at 7 PM with a second 8 PM departure on Fridays, and the 18+ Mountain Town of Madness tour goes out at 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Meadowlark Art Studio
New paintings, opening night, across from the courthouse.
Painter and longtime art teacher Erika Tsouras opens "Finding Peace in Times of Conflict," a new collection of colorful abstract paintings on wood, at her studio, gallery, and art school at 115 E Birch Ave. On the official October venue list, 5 to 9 PM, with classes for all ages the rest of the month.

October is ghost tour season
When the galleries close, keep exploring with Flagstaff's own guides. The ghost tours leave Wheeler Park two blocks west of Heritage Square, right as the walk winds down. An official ArtWalk venue since 2026, guiding downtown since 2015 — book direct:
