The Center 2 Center ride
A community bike ride that takes advantage of the car-free streets: gather at the Coconino Center for the Arts, then roll downtown together to land at Heritage Square right as First Friday ArtWalk begins. Two arts centers, one easy ride between them.
How the ride works
- 1
4:00 PM — Gather at the Coconino Center for the Arts
Meet up at 2300 N Fort Valley Rd, about a mile north of downtown. There's free Timberline ice cream to kick things off.
- 2
Roll out together, party-pace
The group rides down through the Coconino Estates neighborhood toward downtown — relaxed, social, and timed so you arrive for the start of the walk.
- 3
5:00 PM — Land at Heritage Square
Arrive at the heart of the car-free ArtWalk just as it opens, bike already parked and the whole evening ahead of you.
Start and finish
Two pins: the Coconino Center for the Arts (start) and Heritage Square (finish). The ride heads through Coconino Estates between them — the exact turn-by-turn route isn't published, so follow the group.
Lighting up downtown…
Good to know
Cost
Free. No fee, and there's no registration mentioned — it reads as a drop-in ride.
Who's it for
Party-pace and family-friendly. It's a ride-at-your-own-risk community ride, so kids should ride with an adult.
Bring
Layers, lights, and a helmet — Flagstaff evenings cool off fast at 7,000 feet. And bring a friend.
The vibe
Social, not a race. You're rolling into an art night, not training for one.
Before you ride
- The ride is new for 2026 and runs every car-free First Friday, May through October.
- The 4 PM gather and 5 PM Heritage Square arrival are the published anchors; an exact “wheels-up” minute isn't posted, so arrive by 4 to be safe.
- E-bike policy isn't published — if that matters to you, check with the organizer.
- Creative Flagstaff promotes the ride alongside Car-Free First Fridays — see their ArtWalk page for that month's exact details.
