Gwendolyn Waring is a Flagstaff landscape painter, evolutionary ecologist, and author who has painted and studied the American West for five decades, working primarily in oils with the Colorado Plateau as her subject. She wrote A Natural History of the Intermountain West and The Natural History of the San Francisco Peaks, and pens the Nature Notes natural-history column for the Arizona Daily Sun. Her larger canvases hang at Late for the Train downtown; her studio and gallery sit at 412 W Juniper Ave on Hospital Hill.
